We hope everyone is getting excited for the trip!!! Today many of the students will come home with their trip shirts/hoodies. Very exciting time for our 8th graders!
I wanted to give everyone an update on some questions we've received regarding the Corona Virus and protections we're making to ensure that our students and staff are as safe as possible on the trip.
Please keep in mind we are always monitoring changes and any vital information is communicated through Marvin Ridge Administration as well as UCPS.
Also here are some updates from Orange Sky Travel:
Orange Sky is in communication with our destination partners and travel vendors to be up to date with all situations related to at-risk destinations as we become aware of them. We are also receiving daily CDC updates and will take appropriate actions necessary to adhere to CDC protocols and government appointed travel restrictions.
Each bus on our trip will have representatives. Bus "Handlers" (Orange Sky Representatives) will begin administering antibacterial hand sanitizer to all travelers each time they enter a motor coach to help remove any hand-to-hand transmission of any seasonal or novel illnesses. Hand sanitizer will also be administered prior to distributing box meals where restroom access is limited. The CDC reports that hand-care is the most important, preventative practice to remain healthy during the flu season.
As with every travel experience, our Handlers will help monitor any participants displaying flu-like symptoms in conjunction with school representatives. As a precaution, we are adding a limited number of protective face-wear for any symptomatic travelers to our first aid kits as well in order to limit exposure to seasonal or novel sicknesses.
